Harford Streams Restoration Plans A program developed and administered by Harford County Government
(NEW) - Harford County Department of Public Works recently completed the Bush River Watershed Restoration Plan for PCBs. Public comments are being accepted through September 22, 2017. A copy of the plan is available below or arrangements can be made to review the document in the County offices by contacting Christine Buckley at (410) 638-3217 extension 1176 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Harford County has developed restoration plans in accordance with the County’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit Part IV E2 which states “...Harford County shall submit to MDE [Maryland Department of Environment] for approval a restoration plan for each stormwater WLA [waste load allocation] approved by EPA [Environmental Protection Agency]”. The County’s NPDES MS4 permit also requires a 30-day comment period before finalizing watershed restoration plans.
The watershed restoration plans are intended to outline the County’s plan towards improving water quality within streams determined by the State of Maryland to be impaired. The plans include potential projects and cost estimates and proposed schedules.
